Diferența dintre 'How Much' și 'How Many': Sfaturi esențiale pentru vorbitorii de română
„HOW MUCH” se folosește atunci când te referi la cantități sau la lucruri care nu pot fi numărate. Prin substantiv nenumărabil se înțelege acel substantiv care nu poate primi o formă de plural.
Exemplu:
- Money – m̶o̶n̶e̶y̶s̶
- Homework – ̶h̶o̶m̶e̶w̶o̶r̶k̶s̶
- Water – ̶w̶a̶t̶e̶r̶s̶
De exemplu, „How much water do you need?” sau „How much money do you have in your wallet?”
În cazul substantivelor nenumărabile, formarea pluralului se realizează cu ajutorul partitivelor, expresii folosite sa exprime forma de plural fără a fi nevoie să adăugam terminația „s” sau „es”
Exemplu:
- Two bottles of water
- Three cups of tea
- Five slices of bread
În schimb, „HOW MANY” se folosește atunci când te referi la lucruri care pot fi numărate, unele obiecte sau persoane. De exemplu, „How many apples are there?” sau „How many friends do you have?”
